Kathy Slayter

Kathy is very involved in the Greater Greenville Association of Realtors, receiving the distinguished honor of “Residential Realtor of the Year for 2003”. She served two years as the GGAR Community Service Committee Chair, directing its annual 5K Run Walk to benefit the Susan Scott Lynch Scholarship program. Beginning a 3 year term on GGAR’s board of directors in 2004, she will also serve on the State Association Affordable Housing committee for 2004, serve as a state director for 2004, serve on the GGAR Legislative committee and chair a committee task force for the local “Poinsettia Award” for 2004.

Kathy was originally licensed as a Realtor in 1980 in Santa Barbara, California. Licensed as a Broker in South Carolina when she moved here in 1992, with a background in new home sales and construction and development work since 1980, she was naturally attracted to The Marchant Company and its emphasis on working with local builders. She joined the company in 1994 as its first employee, “to learn the ropes” and when the time was right she rapidly progressed to on-site sales and has consistently been the company’s top producing agent. Kathy currently represents several developments for the company from its downtown Greenville office.

Strengths & Motivations:
- Kathy is a member of the National Association of Home Builders' New Home Sales Professionals, has the Certified Sales Professional (CSP) Designation, and offers 24 years of personal experience in the real estate profession.
Personal & Community Interests:
- Kathy served on the Board of Directors for the Greenville Track Club for four years and has directed the Greenville News Run Downtown for the club for the past 3 years. She was the SC Chapter of Road Runners Club of America state volunteer of the year for 2002. She has run 5 marathons and devoted several years to “team diabetes”, a marathon-training program that raised thousands of dollars for The American Diabetes Association. Kathy has taught aerobics and fitness for the local YMCA since 1993 and is a Y certified Pilates instructor. She has three grown children, enjoys traveling, and is an avid gardener.
